Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same backend as the Maila app?+

Yes — every AI feature here calls the exact same PHP AI Gateway the Maila mobile app uses (chat, summarize, cleanup, priority, rules, scam detection, subscriptions, spending, calendar and task extraction).

What Gmail access does this need?+

Read access to list and open your messages, and modify access so cleanup actions (archive, trash) can actually run. Nothing is deleted without you triggering it.

Is my email content sent anywhere else?+

Only the specific text needed for the action you run (e.g. a single email's body when you click Summarize) is sent to the AI backend to generate that result — it isn't stored.

Can I disconnect at any time?+

Yes, use the Disconnect button once connected, or revoke access anytime from your Google Account's third-party access settings.

NohayaEmail Cleaner is powered by Maila. Some Gmail scopes are still under Google's verification — if you get an “access blocked” screen, you may need to be added as a test user.
