Not every audio project calls for a natural voice. Sometimes you need a character, a disguised voice, or just a stylistic effect — and Nohaya's Voice Transform tool applies preset transformations to an existing recording rather than generating new speech from text.
The presets, and what they're actually for
- Male → Female / Female → Male — useful for character voicing in animations or skits without needing a second voice actor.
- Child Voice — common in story-narration content and certain comedic formats.
- Deep Voice — a dramatic, lower-register effect used for trailers, intros, or villain-style character work.
- Anime Voice — a stylized effect matching the exaggerated pitch and tone common in anime dubbing styles.
- Radio Host — a polished, broadcast-style EQ effect that makes ordinary recordings sound like they were recorded on professional radio equipment.
Each preset has an adjustable strength slider, so you can dial an effect in subtly (a slight pitch shift) or push it to the full character effect, depending on what the project needs.
Practical uses beyond "fun effects"
- Anonymizing a speaker. If you're publishing audio from a source who needs their identity obscured, a strong transform can mask a recognizable voice while keeping the words intact — more practical than re-recording dialogue with a different speaker.
- Quick prototyping for character casting. Before committing to hiring a voice actor for a specific character style, running your own scratch recording through a preset gives you a fast sense of whether that vocal direction works for the script.
- Consistent stylization across a series. If a recurring character or segment uses a specific voice treatment, applying the same preset and strength every time keeps it consistent without re-learning a performance each episode.
How it fits with the rest of the toolkit
Voice Transform works on audio you already have — your own recording, or a clip generated elsewhere. If you're starting from text instead of an existing recording, TTS Studio generates the base voice first; Voice Transform is the next step once you have audio to reshape.
